Creative writing task

Creative writing task I consider the novel as an immense success as expressing the situation in Germany and describing how it was to live in that period as a neutral, innocent child with a straight opposite parent. It articulated Bruno’s innocence and feelings incredibly and as well realistic. When Bruno continues to visit Shmuel, you can clearly see the distinctive contrast between a native German and a Jew at that time especially the way people visually examined them and how they treated them differently. Gretel reveals how numerous Germans were brainwashed by newspapers, family, and mentors, for instance how she changes opinion quickly after a talk with Herr Liszt. Pavel takes an important role in the story, a required role to gradually educate Bruno about how the Jews went day by day by telling him how Jews got taken away their careers and lives, just to peel potatoes for Germans. Reflection on my Thoughts After Reading the Boy in the Striped Pyjamas

Reflection on my Thoughts After Reading the Boy in the Striped Pyjamas The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas made me feel really sad   because of whole concept of World War II and the deaths of all the Jews and Pavel, Bruno and Shmuel. I personally did not like the ending at all. The   reason I didn’t like the ending is because I   didn’t expect it. I honestly did not expect that both Shmuel and Bruno would die. I thought Shmuel would die but not Bruno. To be fair to the author the ending did fit the book and looking back at this the author chose a fitting way to end the book but still I don’t like it because it’s too dark for me and depressing for me.

Shmuel's Diary

Today I met a new boy. It happened like this: I was sitting in front of the fence as I always do, and after a few minutes I saw a figure of a boy. As he got closer, he said hello. Then I said hello back. He came and sat in front of me. He was taller than me and his clothes looked expensive. We started talking. I told him that my name was Shmuel he said that he didn’t know anyone called Shmuel, I told him that in my side of the fence a lot of people were called Shmuel. Then he said that his name was, Bruno. That name is so strange isn’t it? We found out that we were born in the same day! He also said that he lived in a big house and that he was exploring. I told him that I was from Poland and that before we came here my mother was a teacher and she taught me how to talk both German and Polish. We talked about where we used to live. And some other things. Then he told me he had to go.
